What is Matrix Reimprinting?

Matrix Reimprinting was developed by EFT Master, Karl Dawson, and considers scientific developments in the fields of cell biology (in particular, the work of Bruce Lipton who correlates the connection between beliefs and biology), trauma psychology, neurodevelopment and quantum physics.

It is a powerful memory reconsolidation technique that utilises EFT to transform painful memories and limiting beliefs and heal the chronic effects of past trauma in the subconscious mind.

It works by acknowledging and releasing the emotional charge from the trauma, identifying the negative belief made or strengthened at that moment, and then creating new positive images, outcomes and beliefs in relation to the original event and reimprinting these in the mind and body.

The effect is a transformation in physical and emotional wellbeing, freedom from the traumatic memory, and a cognitive shift in insight, belief and perception through the deep reframing of the event.

The term ‘matrix’ comes from quantum physics and refers to the understanding that the universe and everything in it (including our bodies, emotions, thoughts, memories) are forms of energy connected in fields of information.

Matrix Reimprinting in Practice

  • We will identify a distressing event you want to heal and then help you to feel safe and at ease with EFT protocols before entering the memory.
  • In the memory, we tap on your ‘echo’, the (often young) part of you still stuck in the past and holding the pain, acknowledging their feelings and all they went through.
  • When the painful feelings have been released, we identify the limiting belief that was made or was reinforced at that point in time. Then, guided by your inner wisdom, we help your ‘echo’ transform this belief through changing and reframing the narrative of the event and create a positive outcome by giving back the help and support they didn’t receive.
  • After this transformative process, we offer your ‘echo’ the choice of staying where they are or going to a different place.
  • The updated memory or image is then reimprinted with the new positive belief in the mind and body with EFT.
  • The work is then tested by returning to the original memory and clients often report that it has lost its emotional charge, seems more distant or has been replaced by the updated images.
  • After this healing, there is a period of integration where the updated memory is reimprinted daily to integrate new neural pathways and to reinforce the distressing event is now over.

If the memory of the event is too painful, we don’t have to go to the most distressing moment, instead, to a point just after the event happened. Or we don’t have to ‘go there’ at all, instead taking the wounded part of you to a ‘healing place’ within to do the work. And if you can’t remember what happened, that’s okay too, as this technique works well with metaphor and memory implicitly held in the body.

What Does Matrix Reimprinting Help With?

Similarly to EFT, including but not limited to:

  • Trauma
  • PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • Anger and depression
  • Fear and panic
  • Phobias
  • Addictions
  • Physical issues

It is also very helpful in supporting clients manifest their goals including general self-development ones (more confidence, self-esteem, peace and calm). Aswell as going back into the past, we can go into the future and embed positive outcomes too.

A note about visualisation techniques. You don’t have to be a highly visual person to benefit from this. The word ‘visual’ is a little misleading as visualisation involves all the senses, not just internal ‘seeing;’ and the whole person, not just the mind. It is enough to simply have ‘a vague sense of something.’
